There are lots of ways you can support The Friendship Cafe and your local community.

Volunteering

​

Volunteers are involved in many different roles within The Friendship Cafe. Some people feel happiest working face to face with our clients supporting social interaction or sharing skills and others prefer to make refreshments or participate in fundraising. All of our volunteers have an important part to play and we could not give the quality of service that we do without their help. They are simply wonderful!

Fundraising

​

As a not for profit organisation, we reuse and recycle resources and buy locally wherever possible which keeps costs down and also helps the environment. That said, costs are rising and we cannot  charge the people we serve enough to cover those costs. We have to keep session charges low to make our services as accessible as possible to those who most need them.

​

We have been very well supported over the last four years by a number of organisations, including The Cooperative, One Stop, The West Midlands Police Local Initiative Fund, Tesco Groundworks and The National Lottery. 

Believing in the value of the work we do, The National Lottery Community Fund have pledged five years of funding for our current Friendship Cafes, however we are now at full capacity in the majority of our sessions and we urgently need more funding to provide more Friendship Cafes to help more people.

At The Friendship Cafe we know that businesses want to be involved in their local community, supporting the community that supports them.  Many organisations cannot operate without the generous help of the business sector. The Friendship Cafe are proud to be sponsored by Haywards Transport and Midland Mars . Their sponsorship has enabled us to provide refreshments and much needed and thoroughly enjoyed outings for our beneficiaries.
